Spring Festival Set

Our 4th annual Festival, scheduled for April 26th is a Spring Festival with a slightly different theme. It will be held at the site of a real operating eco village focused on “Self Reliance” and “Resiliency.” Sustainability in this context is about re-localization, re-skilling and planning for what Tucson will need to thrive in a world that doesn’t depend on globalization and consumerism. It is about being practical in the face of a rapidly changing political, economic, and global world.

Plans in process for our first Spring Festival

Tentative plans are in the works for a hands-on dig-in-the-dirt sustainability exposition. SIte selection is being discussed with a tentative site in Avra Valley.

Great Turnout at the Fall Festival:

Everyone loved the great weather, awesome music, speakers (including Mayor Rothschild), electric vehicles. GMO Free food, and the quality of the vendors representing 50 green businesses or organizations. It looks like we doubled the visitor count from the 2012 Festival. It took a year of preparation, and many meetings of our committees to get this to such a success level. Next year will be even better with your help.

The Tucson Sustainable Festival is a family event that brings people together around a common vision and motivates action to build a bright sustainable future in our beautiful desert southwest. Come enjoy a day of fun, food, education, and community for the whole family. This year, 2014, we will have both a Spring and a Fall Festival with different themes and locations. The Spring Self Reliance & Resiliency Festival will be outdoors with real hands-on DIY projects, workshops, and demonstrations from the experts. This is not a Prepper or Survival Festival though many of the same subjects are being demonstrated. This is about re-skilling, re-localization, and learning from the past while applying technology and today’s knowledge to update skills that we now need more than ever for a rapidly changing and unpredictable world.

What will Tucson look like 10- 20- or even 50 years in the future… There may not be a future if we don’t start planning it right here and right now in a practical and sustainable way.

The Envision Tucson Sustainable Festival is a family event that brings people together around a common vision and motivates action to build a bright sustainable future in our beautiful desert southwest while enjoying a day of fun, food, education, and community for the whole family.

So far we have more than 40 groups / companies participating in this year's event. You are sure to have a good time so come on out and find out more about our sustainable community. See you there...
